Podemos accuse PP of using Venezuelan situation to push agenda


‘Former Spanish Prime Minister Rodriguez Zapatero was praised for mediating between the Venezuelan government and the opposition.

The secretary-general of Spain’s anti-austerity Podemos party has accused his country’s ruling Popular Party of using the situation in Venezuela as a “smoke screen,” referring to it every time they’re approached with corruption cases.

Pablo Iglesias Turrion said “ I am going to be very sincere: I doubt very much that the leaders of the PP (Popular Party) are concerned about the situation in Venezuela, basically because the instability in other countries is absolutely indifferent to them.”
